The business area has its principal product development and manufacturing units in Belgium, Germany, Sweden, China and Brazil.
 
In 2010, the business area had revenues of BSEK 11.2.

The market

The construction industry is the largest customer segment for the Construction Technique business area, with almost two thirds of annual business area revenues. Civil engineering contractors demand compaction and paving equipment, while special trade contractors and rental companies are important customers for light construction tools such as breakers, cutters, drills and handheld compaction equipment. Portable compressors and generators are used to provide power in various construction applications.
 
The mining and manufacturing industries are other important customer segments for the business area, with about 20% of sales combined.
 
The aftermarket business (sales of parts and services) represented about 20% of revenues.
